Way back in 1991, a young couple by the names of Mark Thistel and Robyne Lyles kept running into people all around Baltimore who wanted a certain kind of high-trust transportation solution—the kind that didn’t exist. That got their wheels turning, so to speak. And that’s how FreedomCar started out… with a few cars, a few customers and two married kids who, fortunately, really liked to drive. So that’s what they did. And they added a level of service that was as incomparable then as it is now.
People were so happy, they told more people who told even more people and now FreedomCar boasts an extensive fleet of vehicles, thousands of customers and more than 50 employees.
The owners review every aspect of the company’s day-to-day operations, overseeing an equally dedicated and experienced management team and 40 on-the-road personnel with an average seniority of eight years with the company. This personal commitment on the part of the owners is reflected in the extraordinary dedication of FreedomCar staff, each of whom is reviewed and awarded bonuses every 120 days based on performance. Metrics on quality and efficiency are rigorous and universally applied, keeping quality high and costs lower than they would be otherwise.
It’s a complex business model that requires resources and constant vigilance to maintain, which is why we’re not concerned about competitors.
We’re not everyone’s answer to all transportation questions at all times, and we’ll let you know if we think another option is a better answer for your situation. On the other hand, if trust, comfort, value and transparency are all high on your priority list, you won’t find a better solution.
