Fees for services
We pay a $5 tax to access Reagan National and Dulles airports. In Maryland, there are no additional sales taxes. The only other way our fees change from what you have been quoted is if the service parameters change.
When might service parameters change?
If you get tied up at the airport in customs or dealing with lost luggage (it happens!), if you request extra stop(s) once you’re already on the road, your flight is delayed by more than 2 hours or if other events outside of our control present themselves, we may need to pass the cost on to you. We really do pride ourselves on being reasonable when it comes to assessing the unanticipated surprises that can occur on (and off) the road and we’ve been delighted to find that our passengers have been equally reasonable.

We will always be happy to provide you with a free quote so you can compare FreedomCar to other transportation options. We’ve created the chart below to illustrate how our service model differs, which may also explain any differences you might find in fees.
Less overhead and lesser standards can mean lower rates, but it rarely means more service.

Payment options
We accept all major credit cards. We will ask for a credit card number when we set up your account and/or schedule your first service. Your card will be charged after a service has been completed.
We do not accept any in-car payments. Our drivers do not carry change and part of the freedom of FreedomCar is that there are no financial transactions in the vehicle, so you can stay focused on enjoying the ride.
Business Accounts
For business accounts and high-frequency personal accounts, we can invoice weekly where all invoices are payable upon receipt by credit card or check.
Personal Accounts
You may set up a family account that your designated family members can use. Based on service frequency, we will apply charges upon completion of each service (if infrequent) or we will invoice weekly (for recurring or frequent services). We can determine the most efficient billing cycle when you set up your account.

NO tipping/gratuities policy
Gratuities/tips are never accepted by any of our employees. We look forward to showing you what a difference this approach makes as it is a critical ingredient in the FreedomCar experience that serves several purposes:
- It prevents the passenger from having to conduct transactions in the car.
- It protects the business traveler from having to dispense undocumented funds.
- It makes our estimates to you realistic and accurate.
- Most importantly, it provides you with a uniform level of excellent service provided by motivated employees whose pay is not determined by the dollar amount of the service.
Our drivers are employees who earn a livable wage, so the best gratuity you can give them is to express your satisfaction with their services when you get your emailed receipt (which offers an opportunity to review the service). The best way to thank us as a group is to refer us to a friend or associate.
Accolades do affect our employees’ bonus pay, so feel free to call or write to us with your comments!
Cancellation Policy

We understand that your plans change, and we do everything in our power to accommodate these changes with a minimum amount of additional cost to you. For that reason, we have put the following cancellation policy in place, applicable to car and single vehicle services. Each situation is different and we also reserve the right to charge less than what is quoted below, based upon the discretion of managers and owners of FreedomCar.
Our goal is very simple: We need to recover costs, but we never profit from changes in your plans.
More than 24 hours notice
Unless you are specifically notified in advance, there is no fee for cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance of your scheduled trip.
Less than 24 hours notice
For cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled service, we reserve the right to charge a $15 administrative fee and up to 50% of the estimated service value for services canceled on the actual day of the reservation, at the discretion of FreedomCar.
No notice
For cancellations made once the car is in route, we reserve the right to charge up to 100% of the estimated service value at the discretion of FreedomCar.

The policy for specialized vehicle service (Transit vans, mobility vehicle, or travel outside of the tri-state region) are different and less forgiving than the policy for cars/single-service, since the vehicles are fewer in number, and/or involve more administrative time. For these types of service a non-refundable deposit of $75 per reservation is necessary (fee is included in the cost of service), and cancellation fees in excess of that may be applicable within 72 hours of the scheduled service rather than 24. This is at the discretion of FreedomCar managers, and varies based upon the complexity of the assignment. However, the principle remains: we need to recover costs, but we will make no money on your changes of plans.
If you have van or multi-vehicle assignment for us, please call us and we’ll discuss whatever additional exposure to cancellation fees you might have.
More than 72 hours notice
Unless you are specifically notified in advance, there is no fee beyond the deposit for cancellations made more than 72 hours in advance of your scheduled trip. Deposit is non-refundable.
Less than 72 hours notice
For cancellations made within 72 hours of the scheduled service, we reserve the right to charge a fee up to 50% of the estimated service value for services canceled on the actual day of the reservation, at the discretion of FreedomCar.
NO notice
For cancellations made once the vehicle(s) are in route, we reserve the right to charge up to 100% of the estimated service value at the discretion of FreedomCar.
