Martin Niemöller was a pastor, not a politician. All he wanted to do was speak the word of God to his flock.
We are not afforded the luxury of leading these small, quiet lives when people within our community are being targeted by authorities acting in the name of the State.
Last month that happened to our friends within the Public Health Sciences and Federal Civil Service. Public health professionals and public servants, many of whom are our friends, found themselves out of a job and referred to as enemies of the public good. We cannot let that go unanswered.
