Tell us about a moment that changed your direction or perspective. What shifted for you, and what did you do next?
My first job was as a speech therapist. I later did a short series of speech improvement programs on WBAL-TV, which led to an offer to host a children’s program. I jumped at the opportunity—it marked the start of my career in television.
What do you hope future generations in your family will know about your journey?
I was lucky to have found work that I loved—it was my passion. I hope my family will be just as fortunate.
As we look ahead, what are you most hopeful for in the future—for yourself, your family, or your community?
I’m hopeful for more civility, understanding, and peace in the world.
