November is all about being thankful, and FreedomCar finds ourselves thankful for an amazing group of new team members we’ve welcomed aboard in just these past 30 days. We can’t wait for you to meet them.

HERE THEY ARE:

Alessandra Haslbeck

Alessandra hails from Anne Arundel County. She is a proud graduate of Mount de Sales Academy and Towson University—and having also worked at Howard Community College for four years, she knows a thing or two about the Maryland education system. (Seriously, don’t even ask where all her relatives went to school unless you’ve got time to hear a roll call of every Maryland institution.) Throughout her career what’s always stood out to her is connecting with new people and building relationships—it’s a main part of what drove her to FreedomCar, where every ride is more than a pickup—it’s a genuine conversation waiting to happen (and maybe a debate about who really has the best crab cakes). Alessandra enjoys hearing clients’ stories on the road and looks forward to meeting more of you soon!

Rick Green

Rick was born and raised in Baltimore, a graduate of Towson HS and St. Mary’s College of MD. His father always thought the military was his destiny and he joined the Maryland Air National Guard where he ascended to LT Col before retiring in 2017. Rick spent 26 years in civil service with the IRS as an IT Project Manager before retiring as a consequence of the government shut down. In retirement, Rick is embarking on a new career as a Driver with FreedomCar. He loves the interesting customers he picks up and is gratified to work with wonderful colleagues every day.

Kamal Hamyar

Kamal Hamyar was born in a remote area of Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan, a region known for its majestic mountains, lush greenery, and cascading waterfalls. After earning his BA in Political Science and International Relations, he went on to build a career working with media organizations, civil society, Afghan government institutions and collaborating with the U.S. mission in Afghanistan through a media platform that operated for two decades under NATO. Throughout his career, he actively advocated for Afghan girls’ rights to education and employment—causes that remain close to his heart.

Kamal moved to the United States in March 2025 and is now settled in Baltimore with his wife and two daughters. Kamal feels honored to join FreedomCar—a company he deeply respects for its values and commitment to integrity and views this new chapter as both a privilege and an opportunity to contribute meaningfully as part of the FreedomCar family.

Carlo Gilotte

Carlo was born and raised in Maryland and is a graduate of Towson University with a degree in Sports Management. His career eventually transitioned to leadership roles in the car sales and rental business. His love of sports never wained and and you can find him officiating high school basketball and umpiring softball when he is not rooting for the Ravens, Orioles, and the Terps. His two grown sons and his four grandchildren are the joys of his life. Impressed with FreedomCar’s employees and clients, Carlo joined the FreedomCar family and finds it to be the perfect fit.

John Eltringham

John joins FreedomCar as a second career after serving in the military and law enforcement for almost 30 years. He is a husband to his high school sweetheart, a father to two wonderful adult children, and most recently a grandfather to two wonderful boys who bring him much joy. He enjoys camping with his family, traveling, and riding motorcycles in his free time. He truly enjoys being of service to others and getting to know all the wonderful FreedomCar customers.

Greg Baker

Born and raised in Baltimore, Greg joined the Marine Corps upon graduating from Boys Latin School. He spent four years on active duty and two years in the reserve before leaving the armed forces to join Loyola Blakefield, serving for 22 years there as an Associate Dean of Students and a full time athletics coach “for some very good kids.” Explaining his choices, Greg says, “I’ve always enjoyed being part of a team, being a part of something bigger than oneself. That’s what drew me to FreedomCar, where everyone is part of the Team and no one is in a bad mood. That’s true of passengers too. It’s a joy talking to all the clients. Everyone I meet is educated, articulate, and in good spirits all the time. I feel privileged to be here.”

That’s a lot of talent to add in 30 days, and offers us much to be thankful for. Perhaps you’ll meet them in your Thanksgiving travels!
