I was asked this question and expected any of the endless happy memories of our staff parties to come to mind.
Instead, something very different came to mind: Dropping off a passenger at BWI at 05:40 am Friday 5/8/2020, early in the pandemic shutdown, with business levels down 96%, and finding the terminal roadway had only one car on it (see police car in background). I stayed for 5 minutes, just to see if anyone else would show up, and also because it had been a while since we had taken anyone to BWI and I wanted not to forget the moment since I didn’t know when or if it would happen again. Eventually, another vehicle did show up…it was another FreedomCar.
At that moment I realized that I would give anything to be around my colleagues and customers again, making the morning coffee, giving a performance evaluation, taking a reservation, and if any of that ever happened again I would never cease to appreciate it. Therefore, that is my favorite memory.
