Dear *|FNAME|*,
The busiest travel time of year is almost upon us. We wanted to make sure you have the info you need to avoid delays and make every trip as easy as it can be.
1.) Get your REAL ID done.
You probably received a notice from the DMV already about
Real-ID, a Federal standard for state driver's licenses. Save yourself some time and make an appointment to get a Real ID-compliant driver's license for the fastest DMV experience that is possible (as opposed to walking in). As of Oct. 1,
2020, every air traveler age 18 and older will need a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or another acceptable form of ID to fly within the United States. (Maryland REAL ID-compliant cards are marked with a star in the upper portion of the card.)
2.) Sign up for TSA Pre-Check & save time.
Traveling inside the U.S. You'll cruise through security. No need to take off shoes, belts, jackets, etc. Almost never need to wait more than
5 minutes. Here's where you can
sign up. International travel requires
Global Entry clearance.
3.) Planning a trip to Europe? Heads up...
Starting on
January 1, 2021, all U.S. citizens who want to travel to the 26 members of Europe’s
Schengen Zone will need to register with the European Travel Information and Authorization System (
ETIAS). You can learn more about all this
here.
Bonus tip?
Track your flight—and possible delays—with your airline's app. Or sign up for an account at
flightview.com for real-time flight tracking. And make sure you know
what you can and can't pack!
